The Garmin Portable Friction Mount is a great solution for mounting your GPS mount in your car, whether it is a Prius or a Ford or any other ordinary car. It is very stable, does not slide down the upholstery, lets you adjust the angle of your car without the GPS sliding down. This friction mount from the house of Garmin is a superior alternative for the suction cup mounts that do not exactly serve the purpose.

This mount enables you to place your GPS anywhere on the dashboard, be it on the console in the center or somewhere else. It works much better than the suction mount, is very stable, does not slide down, and lets you adjust the angle of your Nuvi to a variety of angles. This mount also works well on other car’s dashboards apart from the ones mentioned above.

A most striking feature of this mount from the house of Garmin is that it prevents your GPS from being stolen from the dashboard of your car. It does not allow the instrument to slid from its perch on the dashboard and keeps it very stable and in good working condition. This mount prevents the GPS being stolen by allowing you to easily stash your GPS unit and mount out of sight when a likely thief comes prowling and then helps put it back with ease.

This mount can be easily stacked away when not in use or when it is not supporting the GPS in position on the car’s dashboard. It is quite bulky and a bit difficult to be stored when not in use, but it still can be stacked away when not in use. Although, this is not the best solution, it does sound a feasible method to keep your mount safe and secure from prowling eyes. When we consider a rating for this instrument, then the best rating we can think of would be between 4 and 5 or at 4, although its size would be a matter of concern when stacking it away when not in use.
